Any non-abrasive cleanser is fine. Nothing with harsh chemicals or abrasives. Pledge and other commercial cleaners are fine, as well as soap and water. All of our tables have many coats of finish to protect and preserve the finished piece.
What is the difference between a regular cutting board and an end grain cutting board?
Most cutting boards use the face grain, or edge grain as the cutting surface. End grain cutting boards use the end grain of the wood as the cutting surface. End grain is much harder, more durable, and easier on knife edges due to the grain orientation of the wood. End grain cutting boards are usually more intricate in design as well.
How do I care for a cutting board?
We suggest mineral oil. We use a combination of mineral oil, coconut oil and beeswax, but mineral oil alone is fine. Try not to use any plant based oils like vegetable oil, as they may become rancid. Oil your cutting board twice per month and keep it away from standing water, and never place it in the dishwasher.
